Ever Thought About Recycled Rubber Mulch? You Should
Have you ever walked past someone’s garden looked down between the plants and seen all that mulch stuff that people use. Well it is not all wood. Can you believe that some of these gardens use rubber? That’s right - rubber mulch;
· It looks just like the real thing and will last a lot longer too
· Will not catch alight
· Does not attract animals or insects (like wooden mulch)
· You don’t need to embed it into the soil
· It has no annual replacement
· Actually deters the growth of algae fungus and mold
· Last but not least it is actually cheaper than wooden mulch. If you find places selling it for more than the wooden stuff then they are trying to put one over on you.
As you know the whole planet is or should be on a recycling magic round-about, that really is not going too well, but you would think that using wooden mulch is a good thing for the environment and it is, as long as it is taken from a source that does not ruin the habitat around it.
Unfortunately not all the wooden stuff is taken from places where there is a sustainable source of trees. So the answer has to be recycled rubber mulch, it is not going to end up in the atmosphere and can come from the most unlikely of sources.
How often do you see a mud flap from a car at the side of the road or throw out something rubbery a pet does not play with anymore?
Just think what happens to all those tires and other pieces of so called useless rubber we all take for granted everyday of the year. All these things and almost anything made from rubber can be remolded as mulch and it looks good too!
