Playground Games Vs Computer Games
We would all like to think our children are getting enough exercise, but in this day and age most of them are not. It’s hard for kids today to find something that is more interesting than virtually running around a space station shooting anything that moves and everything that doesn’t, being able to fly around a virtual world, that is just like this one or to just drive around a track in a banana.
Children of all ages find the playgrounds boring, out of date and just not up to the their challenging minds. Well that is all going to change, because some one has done it, they have actually gone and done it. What? You might be thinking, what have they done?
They have put a computer in the playground!! Te Neos gaming system is the first of its kind, that can already be seen in playgrounds up and down America. Now it is hitting Great Britain and who knows where else it will go from there?
What happens with Neos, is the gamers (children as I like to call them) race against the clock to touch the blinking lights, which are housed in the four big consoles, while music and other sound effects create a dramatic atmosphere. Sounds great doesn’t it?
Kids and parents alike have been raving about this new innovative idea. I myself, even though finding it a welcome change, that people are trying to find something new, do find that this monstrous piece of electrical equipment will become a bit all the same, for the kids. One of the games I used to play with my daughter, was that I had to time her on specific things in the playground. This was fun and we both enjoyed it, but after a while she got bored again, then she got too old, which was going to happen anyway, I just did not expect it to be so quick.
What I’m saying about Neos is that kids are going to play the nine different games programmed into it, find the one or two they like best, play them for a while and then get bored of doing the same thing. Is it going to cost more to have some one create different programs, then another lot of people to go around and install them. Just for the parents not to take their children back to that playground, because their kids have said they don’t want to go there again, as its boring. I’m not sure.
I do think it is a good thing that people and governments are trying to do something interesting, with the playgrounds to help get kids outside and away from the television screen.
