Your Garden Is Your Children’s Playground
Not everybody has to have a large and spacious garden for their children to want to play in it. Kids love the outdoors and have amazing imaginations when it comes to playing. Using the space you have to create a playground area for your kids is probably one of the best things you can do.
If you do not have much room then having a playground set, where the swings and slide are joined together is a good idea, but also you can put one thing one side of the yard or garden and something on the other side, or at the ends. Spacing out the apparatus you have may make the area seem a bit smaller, but your children won’t be the slightest bit bothered about that - all they will want is their own playground, and you will have provided that for them.
If you do have a bigger area to place the playground apparatus, then it is a better idea to have them in different parts of the garden. This means that the kids will have more room around each piece of equipment and they will get even more exercise running from one thing to the next. The only drawback of having things spaced out more, is the fact that you may not be able to keep an eye on all the kids at one time, but when can we do that anyway?
Using the natural things in your garden is also a good idea. Trees for example, can have swings hung from them (as long as they are sturdy enough and the swing is secured properly), whether it be a home made swing or a bought one, it will look a lot nicer than having a metal frame stuck in the middle of a lawn. Use yours and your kid’s imagination and come up with different ideas.
You can even have a slide fixed to a tree or build up the ground into a mound and have a slide down a slope, this can be changed in height very easily as your children grow, which will mean you do not have to keep buying different equipment, unless your kids need a longer and wider slide of course.
Your kids can even have an input into how they want their playground to look, so remember the first playground any child sees, is the one they have at home and the garden is the best place to have that playground.
