Don’t Let Them Litter Our Environment

After a nice day in the sun, walking through the local park and sitting for awhile on a bench, I suddenly noticed how many people, were leaving and not picking up their rubbish.

At this point a friend came over to speak to me, we had the usual greeting, then he turned away from me and said, ‘ What do you think about all that, then mate ?‘

To which I replied, ‘Do you mean the empty cans, bottles and crisp packets and things, that have just been left, by your friends and you ?’

He turned back around, rather quickly, as if he had not even been there, with his friends, littering the exact piece of ground, we were talking about.

The friend I’m talking about, is a few years younger than me, but he should know that I am always displeased with people who leave such a mess, when they are supposed to be having a good time. After all, he usually picks up all his rubbish.

What I’m really getting at here, is the fact, that nobody is really taking the responsibility, to keep their local environment clean. Whether it be a park, where lots of other people go, a wooded area, where not as many people go, or the wilderness, where the few go.

The thing is, imagine if more people start to litter our environment, then everyone will think of the other areas, where not as many people go, so on and so forth. What we end up with, is something that looks like a landfill.

I’m still rather upset with what I saw in my local park, but I did tell more than one person what they should do with their rubbish, how bad they where treating their environment and what they should do in the future. None of this was done in an aggressive manner, but the next type of rage to hit the human race, will not have anything to do with the roads they are driving along, but the state of the ground, where there playing field or football pitch used to be.

I’ll say one more thing, let’s look after our environment, because it looks after us, none of us want to walk about in a rubbish tip and others should have consideration when visiting. Get the message out there and make our local environments somewhere where we can all enjoy the great outdoors.
