3 Babysitter Qualifications for Playground Duty

No matter how much you want to avoid it, there are just days when you have to skip taking your children to the playground. You can arrange for a babysitter to make sure that your kids are not deprived of their regular playground time. How do you make sure they still have fun, even with a babysitter? The key is setting qualifications for your baby sitter to make sure that your kids still get the most out of playground time.

Below are 3 things you need to look for to make sure that the babysitter can do a great job keeping your kids safe.

1. Must lead an active lifestyle

A natural, outdoorsy person can make a great playground buddy for your children. Babysitters who already lead an active lifestyle won’t complain about having to be in the playground and having to get a little dirty.

Babysitters who are already active won’t get awkward with playground structures. Your children won’t have to worry about being far from the babysitter. Less worrying from both babysitter and children allows them to just have fun.

2. Must know how to have fun outdoors

A babysitter who is a hardcore camper or athlete might get carried away and run playground time like a boot camp. The best ones to get are those with an active lifestyle and a friendly personality. After all, the objective of going to the playground is for your children to have fun. Make sure your babysitter can give them that.

3. Must have initiative, can think fast and act quickly during accidents

Safety should always be the foremost priority. People who are active and sporty are more likely to know the basic things about first aid. This is great especially if your children are prone to little scratches and minor bruises. It would be great however if the playground flooring is made of rubber mulch to cushion falls and prevent injuries.
