6 Environmentally Friendly Actions You Can Do at Work Today

I don’t want to hear any excuses, you do have time to be environmentally friendly and here are 6 ways, you can be environmentally friendly today, as you prepare to go to work, and in the workplace too.

  1. Make yourself some sandwiches to take to work. You will be helping the environment by not driving somewhere to buy your lunch, and also saving on the packaging that comes with shop bought lunches.

No Surefoot, No Horse!

There is a well known saying amongst horsey people, which is “no foot, no horse”. When you think about it a horse stands on 4 relatively small feet, attached to 4 spindly metacarpals, which supports often more than 1000lbs of body weight. So horses hooves and feet, need looking after.

Firstly, yes there is a difference between a horse’s hoof and their foot. Foot refers to the hoof and all the internal structures, bones and muscles, and the hoof is just the hard outside covering of the foot, comprising of the wall, sole and frog.

Playground Surfaces & Why They Really Matter

Children are going to have accidents in the playground, no matter what the apparatus, the playground surface, or what we teach them. There will always be show offs and kids who think they are clever, who use swings as climbing frames, or seesaws as circus training apparatus. Unfortunately, even the best behaved child can lose their balance and injure themselves.

You might think that children having accidents in playgrounds is not a common occurrence – you would be wrong. It is such a common occurrence that several lawyer firms have specialized knowledge on playground accidents and how to pursue compensation.

Education and Playgrounds

Has anyone really thought about letting the little ones learn whilst having a good time? Well we do have the odd type of playground that has some type of alphabetic or numeric play things, which are usually sprayed on the ground. Most of these are either ignored by the little ones, sprayed with something else by the older ones, or just forgotten about altogether.

So what about creating some playground areas that look like different cities around the world, even buildings from ancient cultures or whole countries? The possibilities are endless. We have theme parks that use this concept and do very well, people enjoy themselves whilst seeing, smelling and feeling what it is or was like to be in the place the park is recreating. (more…)

Keeping our Environment Tidy

We all see litter and bigger kinds of rubbish (like tires) around where we live, yet we all have a local authority that employ people to clear up this rubbish, so why is it there?

It is there because, obviously we don’t think that much of our environment, especially when it comes to our streets and neighborhoods. We end up paying the costs for our local authority to clean up the mess that has been made by us.
